WINDHAM – Marjorie P. Decrow passed away Sept. 25, 2011. She was born Oct. 17, 1914, in Blanchard, daughter of Emery and Gladys (Patten) Packard.

She attended Abbot and Guilford public schools, and Beal Business College, Bangor. In 1940, she met and married Ralph A. Decrow of Bangor, and they had one son, Charles. Prior to her retirement in 1979, she was employed for 20 years by Penobscot County, serving in the registry of deeds and the registry of probate. Marjorie was a lifelong member of Hammond Street Congregational Church, Bangor, and a member of Stearns Circle, Order of the King’s Daughters and Sons. She loved to paint. She was very interested in Tole painting and did some lovely projects from furniture to water color paintings. Prospecting for gold with her husband and son was a family outing that she remembered fondly. Lucerne was a special place for Marjorie and her family where they had a camp on Beaver Island. She loved animals and had several pets throughout the years and had a very special kitty named Susie. She was a very special lady whose major focus was her family and friends. She had a ready smile for everyone, and she touched the lives of many people with her personality of compassion and caring. She had a very positive attitude and always saw the bright side of everything and everyone. She also was a caregiver to her mother-in-law and husband in their time of need.

Marjorie is survived by a son, Charles R. Decrow and his wife, Deanna, of Windham; granddaughter, Tara and husband, Scott Mullan, of Tacoma, Wash.; grandson, Jason and wife, Michelene Decrow; great-granddaughter, Abigail; great-grandson, Jack, all of Gorham; great-granddaughter, Kayla McKay of Standish; brother, David and wife, Thelma Weymouth, of Abbot; many dear nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph A. Decrow of Bangor; a sister, Beatrice M. Potter of Bangor; two brothers, Everett Weymouth of Abbot and Lewis Weymouth of Sangerville; and three dear nieces, Terry Drinkwater of Abbot, Pauline Collier of Bar Harbor and Kathryn Weymouth of Waldo.

Committal services and burial will be held in spring 2012 at Abbot Village Cemetery. If desired, gifts in her memory may be sent to Hammond Street Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 1106, Bangor, ME 04402. Arrangements by Independent Death Care of Maine, 660 Brighton Ave., Portland.
