PRESQUE ISLE – George I. Leach, 86, died peacefully Sept. 25, 2011, at his home. He was born Sept. 25, 1925, in Presque Isle, son of George and Evelyn (McEntee) Leach.
George was employed by Hedrich Vending for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marjorie (Sprague) Leach of Presque Isle; a daughter, Carol Adams and her husband, Dellas, of Easton; a son, Glen Leach and his fiancee, Darlene Akeley, of Squa Pan Lake; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Miller and her husband, Ronald, of Fort Myers, Fla., and Christine Leach of Fort Fairfield; and a brother, Darrell Leach and his wife, Mary, of Presque Isle.
There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle, with Pastors Ron Chaffee and Larry Palmer officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Grant Memorial United Methodist Church, 79 Fleetwood St., Presque Isle, ME 04769.
