PRESQUE ISLE and HOULTON – Melton D. Berube, 76, passed away Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, at a Presque Isle hospital. He was born July 26, 1935, in Winterville, son of the late Arthur and Mildred (Carney) Berube.
Melton loved dogs, had his own kennel business and was a talented groomer. He attended, showed and even judged many dog shows in the U.S. and Canada. He was a member of Poodle Club of America, Apricot-Red Poodle Club and Central Aroostook Kennel Club. Melton had a special dog named Spice, who is a toy poodle and whom he enjoyed very much.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria (Boulier) of Houlton; a daughter, Deborah (Berube) Hersey of Presque Isle; a granddaughter, Ashley Hersey of Presque Isle; a sister, Madeline Huff of West Virginia; as well as nieces and nephews.
