ELLSWORTH – Hazel I. Meehan, 88, died Oct. 5, 2011. She was born May 17, 1923, on Staten Island, N.Y., daughter of Joseph and Emma (Kluth) Dawson.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She took great pride in taking care of her family and home. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with family and friends, and eating pastries and rolls made by her son-in-law.
Hazel is survived by her daughter, Maureen Pelletier and husband, Larry, of Ellsworth; granddaughter, Meghan Pelletier; sister, Audrey Martuccio and husband, Bart, of Staten Island, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, William J. Meehan; and 12 brothers and sisters.
A private graveside service will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Ellsworth. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make contributions in Hazel’s memory to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements made by Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth. Condolences may be expressed at
