WINTERPORT and OTTER CREEK – Ruth Norma Craney, 90, died Oct. 8, 2011. She was born Nov. 14, 1920, in Swanville, the daughter of Chester A. and Carrie (Cone) Craney.
A resident of Otter Creek for 80 years, she was active in the community and church and a retiree of Jackson Laboratory. She had been living with her niece, Reva Shaw Newey in Winterport because of failing health.
Ruth was predeceased by her parents; three brothers, Herman Craney, Arthur Craney and James Craney; and her sister, Esther C. Shaw. Surviving are three nieces, Ruth Neff of Grand Junction, Colo., Reva Shaw Newey of Winterport and Allison Pagnac of Hermantown, Minn.; several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
