WINTERPORT – Henry “Squeak” L. Ferland Sr., 85, was reunited with the love of his life, Joan, Oct. 10, 2011. He was born July 5, 1926, in Rumford, the son of Arthur W. and Mary (McDonald) Ferland.

Henry graduated from Mexico High School. He served with the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. Henry was a member of Mexico Lyons Club. Folks will remember Henry’s quick wit, sense of humor and possibly a gag gift or two.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Joan (Trubee) Ferland; five brothers, Alfred, Arthur J., George, James J. and Edward W. Ferland; and one sister, Mary “Midge” Arsenault. Henry is survived by six children, Rachel M. Parrish, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, Henry L. Ferland Jr. of Windham, John A. Ferland of Hudson, Nancy F. Burns of Winterport, David J. Ferland of Augusta and Keith W. Ferland of Apache Junction, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and was very excited about the addition of another great-grandchild in May 2012.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments after the service at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
