MILLINOCKET – Angelo Joseph Lucci, 89, of Millinocket, passed away Wednesday Oct. 12, 2011, at Cedars Nursing Home, Portland. He was born April 23, 1922, in Millinocket, son of Joseph and Oliva (DiProfio) Lucci.
Angelo attended local schools and graduated from Stearns High School. He was employed by Great Northern Paper Company and Georgia Pacific until his retirement. Angelo was a communicant of St. Martin of Tours Church, Millinocket and a member of St. Martin of Tours Council 680 Knights of Columbus and St. Martin of Tours Assembly 347.
He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Mary. Angelo is survived by a brother, Alfred of Portland; nieces, Jane L. Milliken of Portland and Ann L. Lear of Nashua, N.H.; and nephew, Alfred F. Lucci of South Portland. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff and volunteers at Cedars Nursing Home and Hospice of Southern Maine for their dedication and care of Angelo.
Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16 at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where a prayer service by the Knights of Columbus will be held at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated noon Monday, Oct. 17 at Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 19 Colby St., Millinocket.
