OAK HARBOR, Wash. – Evelyn E. Lannigan Tobin Coffin died Oct. 1, 2011. She was born April 18, 1919, to Sherman and Agnes York Lannigan of Sheridan.

Evelyn cooked for Ashland schools and Rotary Club. In 1964 she worked as a licensed practical nurse at AR Gould Memorial Hospital, Presque Isle. She graduated from the University of Maine at Presque Isle in 1971 and taught in Limestone and Presque Isle. Parker and Evelyn were at home at Echo Lake in the summer and Zephyrhills, Fla., in the winter; they volunteered in both places. Washington was Evelyn’s home since 2004.

She was predeceased by siblings, Beryl and Darrell Lannigan; and by husbands, Loren Tobin, in 1966, and Parker Coffin, in 2004. Survivors include her children, Darrell Tobin and Lorna of Mapleton and Barbara Wihlborg and Jim of Oak Harbor, Wash.; stepchildren, Beth Emery and Charles of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Peter Coffin and Mary of Presque Isle; three grandkids and two great-grandkids.
