OLD TOWN – Leona “Lee” Estelle Bradley, 81, passed away peacefully Oct. 14, 2011, at a Bangor hospital with her loving husband by her side. She was born Sept. 17, 1930, in Old Town, daughter of Emmanuel and Alma (Willette) Messier.
Lee was an excellent cook and homemaker. There are many wonderful memories of the family gathered around her table for the Thanksgiving dinner and other wonderful times. She was a lifetime member of Holy Family Parish, where she was baptized and later married. Her life was devoted to her family: taking care of her parents and siblings, then being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, William “Bill” Bradley of Old Town; children, Gloria Nadeau and husband, Mike, of Old Town, Debra Rickert and husband, Michael, of Pennsburg, Pa., Bill Bradley and wife, Margo, of Daytona Beach, Fla., Kathy Nadeau and husband, Allen, of Orono and Melissa Bradley and companion, Bruce Philbrick, of Bangor; a sister, Carmella Amero of Old Town; 10 grandchildren, Nicole, Michael, Matthew, Bill, Ryan, Brad, Luke, Nick, Noah and Brooke; four great-grandchildren, Alexis, Kayleigh, Christian and Hunter; many nieces and nephews, and dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by six brothers, Tommy, Buster, Bobby, Bernie, Larry and Louie; and a sister, Margaret O’Conner.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord, Holy Family Parish, 429 Main St., Old Town, with the Rev. Wilfred “Bill” Labbe presiding. Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Old Town. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments in the parish hall of Holy Family Parish after the interment.
