HOULTON – Morris A. Cassidy, 78, died Oct. 23, 2011, at his residence. He was born May 28, 1933, in Houlton, son of Lewis Joseph and Mary (McCue) Cassidy.

Morris was a communicant of St. Mary of the Visitation Church and member of Knights of Columbus, where he was a past grand knight. He was a well-respected teacher at Houlton High School, teaching math for 37 years.

Morris is survived by his wife, Lois (Hurley) Cassidy of Houlton; two sons, Kevin Cassidy and his wife, Lisa, of Brunswick, and Kent Cassidy and his wife, Ann, of Dover, N.H.; five grandchildren, Liam, Tessa, Hannah, Emily and Alex; one sister, Linda Hannigan of Houlton; very special friends, David and Sandra Little; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Harold and Oden; and his sister, Bonnie Delcenio.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary of the Visitation Church with the Rev. David Raymond, celebrant. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
