BREWER – Edward V. Desrosiers, 79, died Oct. 29, 2011, at a Brewer health care facility. He was born April 5, 1932, in Old Town, son of Onesime and Marie (Mazerolle) Desrosiers.
Ed was a graduate of John Bapst High School, class of 1950. Prior to his retirement, Ed was employed for many years as a custodian at the University of Maine. Always smiling and personable, Ed loved to joke and spend time with his friends. He loved the outdoors and walked whenever he could.
Ed is survived by sisters, Corinne Baker of Bradley and Constance Martin of Bangor; nephews, Greg Baker, Mark Baker, Michael Martin and James Desrosiers; nieces, Brenda Eldridge, Linda Kothman, Ann Batista and Mary Ellen Slade; sister-in-law, Virginia Hill; and by many friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Lois Desrosiers; parents; sister, Cecile Desrosiers; brother, Alphonse Desrosiers; brother-in-law, George Martin; and nephew, Arthur Martin. The family thanks Ed’s power of attorney, the Rev. Darren L. Morgan, for his tireless efforts in facilitating Ed’s needs throughout the past several years, both financial and personal. They also thank the staff at Brewer Rehabilitation and Living Center and the staff at Woodlands of Brewer for the care they provided.
At Ed’s request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. A graveside service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements are in the care of Greenlawn Memorial Funeral Home, Bangor.
