PLYMOUTH, Mass., and BOURNE, Mass. – Helen L. Dallaire passed away Oct. 10, 2011, at Royal Cape Cod Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Bourne, Mass. She was born Oct. 11, 1916, in Troy, daughter of the late Ira and Vera Fernald.

She was predeceased by three brothers, two sisters; two husbands, Wilfrid J. Daigle and Ralph Dallaire; son, Paul J. Daigle; and daughter, Loretta Shuey. Helen is survived by two sons, W. Claude Daigle and his wife, Virginia, of Sagamore Beach, Mass., and Raoul E. Daigle and his wife, Joann, of Southampton, Pa.; three stepdaughters, six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Helen and Bill “Wilfrid” Daigle raised four children in Unity. After Bill passed away she moved to Hartford, Conn., where she met and married Raoul “Ralph” Dallaire. They retired to Cape Cod, Mass., and when he died she moved to Ohio to be with her daughter, Loretta. When Loretta died 10 years later, Helen came back to Plymouth, Mass., to live near her son, Claude and family. She enjoyed a small garden, the seashore, auto trips and family.

A memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at Sacred Heart Church, Pleasant Street, Waterville, with a burial service afterward at St. Francis Cemetery, 78 Grove St., Waterville. Family and friends are invited back to Sacred Heart Church Hall for a luncheon after the service at the cemetery. Donations may be made to a charity of choice in place of flowers.
