WINTERVILLE and EAGLE LAKE – Robert “Bob” Parent, 60, died peacefully Oct. 29, 2011, surrounded by his family at his residence. He was born March 24, 1951, in Waterbury, Conn., son of Louis and Rachel (Michaud) Parent.
Bob was a member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, and served in the U.S. Army and Navy, 173 Airborne Bte. Association, belonging to the American Legion Riders and American Legion, both of Madawaska.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Donna (Fournier) Parent of Winterville; his son, Robert Jr. Parent and his fiancee, Allene Meza, of Mechanic Falls; his daughter, Lisa and her husband, Matt Jenkins, of Fort Fairfield; granddaughter, Ariana Jenkins; one sister, Linda Parent of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Roger and Richard Parent.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and 1 p.m. until time of service Wednesday at Daigle Funeral Home, 14 East Main St., Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial with full military honors will be celebrated 3 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Eagle Lake. Disposition will be at a later date at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou. Those who wish may donate in Bob’s memory to the Edgar J. “Guy” Paradis Cancer Fund, 194 East Main St., Fort Kent, ME 04743.
