ELLSWORTH – Lois C. Sitnik, 79, died Oct. 23, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Feb. 29, 1932, in Everett, Mass., daughter of William and Ann (Miles) Crosby Sr.

She was a Stoneham High School graduate. After raising five children, she held a multitude of jobs, including phone operator, real estate agent, teacher’s aide, secretary for the state of Maine and clerk for the town of Stoneham. She was a loving wife and mother, and she had a fantastic sense of humor and was loved by all that knew her. She enjoyed traveling with husband, John Sitnik, gardening, knitting, listening to country music, and playing cards and socializing with family and friends.

She is survived by her siblings, Pat Love, Joanne Elliot and husband, Tom, and Jerry Crosby; five children, Marty Lyons III and wife, Ann, Bill Lyons and partner, Nancy Holmes, Steve Lyons and partner, Leanne Shults, Patty McGinty and husband, Chuck, and Lori Gray; 11 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends, including her friend from grade school, Lorraine Hadley. She was predeceased by siblings, Bill Crosby Jr. and Tom Crosby; husband, Martin Lyons Jr., in 2000; second husband, John Sitnik Sr., in 2009; brother-in-law, George Love; and son-in-law, Greg Gray.

A service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Ellsworth. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Lois’ memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
