SACO and PRINCETON – Marilyn Carle, 80, died Oct. 29, 2011, with her family by her side at Gosnell Memorial Hospice Home, Scarborough. She was born July 14, 1931, in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, to Wyatt and Thelma Edgerly.
Marilyn graduated from Princeton High School in 1948.
She attended Eastern Maine Nursing School, Bangor. She married Parks F. Carle of Princeton, Sept. 10, 1949. They made their home and raised their children on the Carle family farm. Marilyn and Parks recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. She was an active member of Princeton Baptist Church, a friend of Goodwins Mills Advent Christian Church, and a member of Big Lake Campmeeting Association. Marilyn was a longtime member of Princeton Grange, No. 293. Her interests included family, friends, genealogy and reading. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members. She enjoyed hosting her extended family and friends at their summer camp on Big Lake.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Parks; sister, Betty and Bill Branch; son, Stephen of Princeton; daughter, Helen Seder of Westbrook; and daughter, Karen and Stephen Cole of Dayton. Marilyn and Parks have nine grandchildren, Rebekah, Gabriel and Molly Seder, Brittany, Zackary, Brandy and Forrest Carle, and Emory and Eliza Mae Cole.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at Goodwins Mills Advent Christian Church, Dayton. Visiting hours are 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main St., Saco. Graveside services in Princeton will be scheduled at a future date.
