TAVARES, Fla. – Nina L. Kirner, 71, passed away Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011. She was born in Houlton, daughter of Robert and Blanch McQuarrie.

She moved to Florida in 2003. She was an avid golfer.

She is survived by her husband, Carl F. Kirner of Tavares, Fla.; two daughters, Beth Sylvia and her husband, Charles, and Wanda Folsom, both of Houlton; stepdaughter and her husband, Debbie and Michael Varney of Houlton; two grandsons, Ryan Sylvia and his wife, Heather, of Mapleton, and Jared Sylvia and his wife, Melissa, of Houlton; two stepgranddaughters, Amanda Varney of Houlton, and Michelle Slike and her husband, Levi, of Mapleton; and five great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Rylee, Calli, Mylee and Michael. She is also survived by her sister, Maxine Farrar and her husband, Wayne; brother, Richard McQuarrie and his wife, Maureen, of Bremerton, Wash.; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Edward McQuarrie of Houlton.

The family will be having a memorial service in Houlton at a later date.
