BANGOR – Wallace A. “Wally” Winchell, 54, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, at his home. He was born Nov. 26, 1956, in Bangor, son of Robert J. and Marilyn E. Winchell.
He graduated high school from Kings County Academy, Kentville, Nova Scotia; and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine and a master’s degree from Husson University. Wallace was a licensed electrician who worked side by side with his father in the family electrical business, and then continued the business after his father’s death.
He was predeceased by his father, Robert J. Winchell; uncle, Albert H. Winchell Jr.; aunt, Gwendolyn A. Winchell; and grandmothers, Doris Evans and Jeannette Winchell. He is survived by and was the devoted son of Marilyn E. Winchell of Bangor; and the loving father of Stephanie M. Winchell and Alixandria E. Winchell, both of Fort Carson, Colo. He is also survived by his sister, Bonnie L. Haghkerdar of Bangor and her children, Robert W. Winchell and Ashley A. Winchell; sister, Roberta E. Winchell, Esq. of Bangor; close family friend, Dr. Monica M. Collins of Bangor; aunt, Janet Winchell Costain of Bangor; and other aunts and uncles.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 5-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12. Interment will be at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments after the service Saturday at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
