NEWPORT – Mitchell A. Bedi, 45, passed away Nov. 7, 2011, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, N.H., after fighting a courageous battle with leukemia. He was born Sept. 6, 1966, in Springfield, Vt., son of Mitchell and Doreen (Colby) Bedi.

He graduated from Springfield High School in 1984. Mitch spent most of his career traveling the U.S., both as a long haul and local area truck driver. He also held a journeyman’s license in plumbing and heating. Mitch loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and four-wheeling. More than anything, Mitch loved to spend time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Stacy Bedi of Newport; mother, Doreen Jarvis of Westminster, Vt.; father, Mitchell Bedi of Whitefield, N.H.; two sisters, Michelle Bedi of Westminster, Vt., and Melissa Pouliot of Lyndeborough, N.H.; two nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He also leaves behind his dog, Abby; and his cat, Gabrielle, who will miss him dearly.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Davis Memorial Chapel, Springfield, Vt., officiated by the Rev. Christine Boardman, pastor of First Congregational Church UCC.
