GRAND ISLE – Joan Marie Levesque, 67, passed away Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, in Grand Isle. She was born March 27, 1944, in Madawaska, the daughter of Claude and Therese (Martin) Cyr.

She enjoyed volunteering her time at Mizpah, and served many years as a member of Ladies of St. Anne.

She is survived by her three sons, Allen Levesque of Grand Isle, Steven Levesque of Grand Isle and Kevin Levesque and his companion, Jessica Caron, of Madawaska. She is also survived by four sisters, Jeanne D’arc Bosse of Edmundston, MaeRita and her husband, Hurby Morin, of St. Joseph, Rose Marie and her husband, Euclide Belanger, of Windsor, Ontario, and Juliette Lagace of St. John, New Brunswick; five brothers, Joel and wife, Claudette Cyr, of Madawaska, Martin Cyr and his companion, Nancy Francoeur, of Edmundston, Roger and his wife, Louiseanne Cyr, of Hewitt, Texas, Marcel and his wife, Jeannine Cyr, of St. Agatha and Carl Cyr of Edmundston; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by her loving husband of 45 years, Yvon Levesque; and brothers-in-law, Laurent Bosse, Donald Levesque, and Alcide and his wife, Cecilia Levesque.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at St. Gerard Church, Grand Isle. Friends and family may offer their condolences 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
