PALM COAST, Fla. – Leroy “Bill” Paul, 79, died Nov. 15, 2011. He was born May 21, 1933, in Bangor, son of Leroy Wilfred and Helene Cameron Paul.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, Bill graduated from Crosby High School, Belfast, in 1951 and graduated from the University of Maine in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. For 30 years, he worked in heavy and industrial construction in various positions including field engineer, superintendent, project manager and vice president for Rust Engineering, Birmingham, Ala.; Cianbro, Pittsfield; W.M. Schlosser, Hyattsville, Md.; and Jacobs Engineering, Greenville, S.C. After retiring in 1990, Bill moved to Hilton Head, S.C., where he enjoyed golf and the beach. He also had a parttime construction management business. In 2000, he moved to Palm Coast, Fla.
Bill was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Cynthia Gray. Survivors include four daughters, Kim Tees and Jim of Raymond, Kathy Toomey of Vero Beach, Fla., Karen Gray and Todd of Keene, N.H., and Kristen Betancourt and Ralph of Winter Springs, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
In lieu of other remembrances, the family suggests donations be made to Flagler Co. Humane Society, 1 Shelter Drive, Palm Coast, FL 32127. A spring committal service will be held at a date to be announced at Grove Cemetery, Belfast. Condolences may be shared with the family at
