PEMBROKE – Ralph W. Cushing, 66, passed away Nov. 12, 2011, surrounded by his family at a Bangor hospital. He was born Sept. 29, 1945, in Eastport, the youngest son of the late Clarence and Hazel (Gove) Cushing.
He married Brenda Carter, Dec. 26, 1970, in Pembroke.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Donald, Clayton, Stanley and his wife, Helen, and Merrill and his wife, Margaret; sisters, Norma Sears and husband, Alfred, and Laura Daggett and husband, Carroll; and brother-in-law, Philip Clement. He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda; and their three children: daughter, Tammy Gay and her husband, Clayton, of East Machias, son, Ralph Cushing and his companion, Debbie Lyon, of Pembroke and daughter, Crystal Cushing of Machias; two adored granddaughters, Tasha Cushing and KayLee Cushing, both of Pembroke; one brother, Vernon Cushing and wife, Faye, of Pembroke; two sisters, Carolyn Clement of Pembroke and Sandra Rodgers and her companion, Wayne Caldwell, of Florida and Pembroke; sister-in-law, Dora Cushing of Pembroke; several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws, whom he loved each and every one in his own special way. He was truly loved and will be missed by us all. Ralph’s family thanks all the doctors and nursing staff at Eastern Maine Medical Center for their professionalism, compassion and helpfulness.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Forest Hill Cemetery, Pembroke, with the Rev. Robert Hinton officiating.
