WOODLAND – Janet Ketch, 81, died Nov. 23, 2011, in Woodland. She was born June 29, 1930, in Caribou, daughter of Radcliff and Verna (Hackett) Holmquist.

She was a graduate of Caribou High School, class of 1948. Janet was an active member of First Baptist Church of Woodland, where she taught Sunday school and was in the church youth group. She was also the mission circle chairman from 1982 to 2002. Janet was also the church secretary, treasurer and assistant treasurer for more than 30 years. She was a 4-H leader and assistant for 20 years. She enjoyed canning, sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking, picking potatoes and working in the potato house. She also set up at Caribou Crafts Fair for more than 25 years. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her family. She married Herbert Ketch, Nov. 3, 1949.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, Herbert of Woodland are one son, Darrell Ketch and his wife, Gael, of Standish; five daughters, Donna St.Pierre and her husband, David, of Texas, Doreen Campbell of Caribou and Florida, Diane Hopkins and her husband, Jefferson, Doris Doll and her husband, Richard, all of Orrington, and Deborah Tardy and her husband, Harold, of Woodland; three brothers, Harvard Holmquist of Cross Lake, Wayne Holmquist of Raymond and Judson Holmquist of Florida; three sisters, Linda Sharp and Fern Counes, both of Florida, and Clarice Rossignol of Gray; 19 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, John Holmquist; and a sister, Gale Ketch.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, at First Baptist Church of Woodland with the Rev. Ron Rosser; and Janet’s grandson, the Rev. Jonathan Susee officiating. Interment will take place at Woodland Cemetery.
