SPRINGFIELD, Pa., and PROSPECT HARBOR – Stephen J. Stinson, 40, died unexpectedly Nov. 22, 2011. He pulled over to the side of the New Jersey turnpike on his way home for Thanksgiving, where he was found in his car by the New Jersey State Police. He was born May 7, 1971, to Calvin L. and Ilene (Bunker) Stinson Jr.
Steve was raised in Prospect Harbor. He attended Sumner Memorial High School, class of 1989; University of Maine, class of 1993; and in 1996 graduated from Dickinson School of Law, Carlisle, Pa. He lived most of his adult life in Springfield, Pa., spending much of his time on the computer managing his investment portfolio.
Steve is survived by his parents; three sisters, Susan Field and husband, George, of Savannah, Texas, Lisa McLain and husband, Randy, of Orrington and Joanne Stinson and partner, Beth Cormier, of Raymond; brother, Michael Stinson and wife, Martha, of Alexandria, Va.; nieces, Jordan McLain and fiance, Devin Fitzpatrick, Meghan McLain and Elena Stinson; nephews, Kyle McLain and Cade Stinson; uncles and aunt, Charles and Orice Stinson, Wes Bunker Sr., Dick Trenholm and Arnie Francis; and many cousins.
Calling hours will be held 9-10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where a memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Interment will be at Prospect Harbor Cemetery, Gouldsboro.
