BREWER – Virginia F. “Ginny” (Wood) Shand, 87, wife of the late Eugene W. “Bud” Shand, died Nov. 23, 2011, at a Bangor nursing center. She was born March 8, 1924, in Brewer, the daughter of Charles H. and Annie E. (Kelley) Wood.
Ginny was a lifelong resident of Brewer, where she and Bud owned and operated their own store. She later worked for Dysart’s Trucking, Hermon, as a switchboard operator for many years.
Surviving are two children, Robert J. Shand and his wife, Carolyn, of Victoria, Texas, and Donald E. Shand and his wife, Rhonda, of Islesboro; two grandchildren, Eric Shand and his wife, Amanda, and their daughter, Ava, of Biddeford and Steven Shand and his wife, Trisha, of Charlotte, N.C.; several nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by devoted family and friends, Phyllis Elliott, Richard and Teresa Dore, and Gary Brown, all of Brewer, Mary Ellen Pooler of Hampden and Joanne McDade of Bangor.
