VAN BUREN – Armand A. Ouellette, 75, died unexpectedly Nov. 30, 2011, at a Caribou hospital. He was born March 5, 1936, in Siegas, New Brunswick, son of Pierre and Ida (Godin) Ouellette.

Armand was employed as a foreman and heavy equipment operator for the town of Van Buren public works department for more than 30 years. He also worked as maintenance supervisor of Van Buren Community Hospital for 10 years prior to his retirement. He was a member and past grand knight of Knights of Columbus Council 1635 of Van Buren, and past faithful navigator and member of Fourth Degree Assembly. He was a very faith-filled person and was involved in his parish community, including serving as Eucharistic minister and altar server at funerals for a number of years. Armand lived his Cursillo weekend many years ago and now enters his fifth day. He was also a member of Third Order of Mary, the lay Marist apostolate.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Eva (Gagnon) Ouellette of Van Buren; three daughters, Betty Levesque and husband, Gary, of Van Buren, Diane Stikeleather and husband, Don, of Black Mountain, N.C., and Linda Ouellette and friend, Heather Coulterman, of Ottawa, Ontario; two sons, Armand Ouellette Jr. and Wayne Ouellette, both of Van Buren; six grandchildren, Amber Atwood and husband, Mike, of Taylor, S.C., Joshua Levesque of Panama City, Fla., Zachary Levesque of San Antonio, Rebekah Levesque of Van Buren, Macy Ouellette of Biddeford, and Monique Ouellette of Van Buren; one daughter-in-law, Deana Ouellette of Van Buren; one brother, Leo Ouellette; and one sister, Louise Albert, both of Van Buren. He will also be missed by many cherished special friends, too many to list. Armand was predeceased by an infant son, Brian, in 1964.

Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Interment will be at the parish cemetery.
