LINCOLN – Merlyn M. Russell, 69, wife of the late Guy Russell Sr., passed away Dec. 1, 2011, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born March 2, 1942, in Eastport, daughter of Charles and Dorothy (Sweeney) Smith.
She had a love for her cat and grandchildren, playing Beano and cribbage, and loved to knit and crochet.
She is survived by two children, Janet Sprague and her husband, Randolph, of Molunkus, and Guy Russell Jr. and his wife, Angela, of Mattawamkeag; grandchildren, Jamie Sinclair, Randolph Sprague Jr. and Amanda Russell; great-granddaughter, Makayla Sinclair; and siblings, Charles Smith Jr. and Gloria Reardon. In addition to her parents and husband, Guy, she was predeceased by a brother, Carl Sweeney; and sister, Christine Grant.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Regginal Adams officiating.
