LUBEC – Bernard George Case, 75, passed away Dec. 5, 2011, surrounded by his family and loving wife, Maxine, at his side, at home. He was born April 8, 1936, in Lubec, son of Otis and Marion (Ryerson) Case.
He worked hard his entire life digging clams, working in the local hen houses and sardine factories, as well as at Georgia Pacific Mill, Baileyville. He also was caretaker for many homes in the Lubec area.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Maxine (Moores) Case; two sons, Gary Moores and his wife, Linda, and their children, Mary, Peggy, Joe and Jaimie, and Bernard Wayne Case and his wife, Pam, and their children, Vanessa and Jazzy; sisters, Marion “Susie” Lodge, Dorothy Spencer and Margaret Monaco; brothers, William and Alfred; great-grandchildren, Joey, Ashton, Delaney and Dakota; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Calvin “Coochie,” Joe, Reginald, Clifford and Martin.
Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at Greenlawn Cemetery, Lubec, with Father Eugene Gaffey, celebrant. Arrangements are in care of McClure Family Funeral Services, Machias and Lubec.
