BUCKSPORT – Regina H. Murchie, 67, went home to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ and the love of her life, Barry A. Murchie, Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011. She was born Oct. 17, 1944, in Lewiston, daughter of Josiah P. Longley and Cleo (Parker) Hutchins.

Regina was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt.

Family was extremely important to Regina. She was a very dedicated caregiver of her loving husband during his long illness. Regina enjoyed her trips to Bangor with her very special friend, Pearl Demaso.

She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her two precious daughters, Heidi Bailey and husband, Christian, of Bucksport and Rebecca Murchie-Stone and husband, Adrian, of Frankfort; grandchildren, Jamie Jones and husband, Tre, Barry “Joey” Carmichael and fiancee, Angela Richardson, Ryan Bailey, Sarrinna Stone, Cheyanne Stone, Abby Stone, Mahayla Stone, and Jayde Stone; great-granddaughter, Olivia Grace Jones and Sophia Lynn Carmichael; two brothers, Harold Hutchins and Terry Hutchins; and two sisters, Brenda Moore and husband, Richard, and Linda Wilson and husband, Chandler. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Joan Hutchins, Diane Hutchins and Mary Murchie; one brother-in-law, John Murchie; her longtime friend, Pearl Demaso; Regina’s special little friend, Natasha; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, Regina was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend in 2008; her very special father-in-law and mother-in-law, the Rev. Raymond and Doris Murchie; brothers, Gordon Longley, Clyde Hutchins, John Hutchins and Lyman Hutchins; one brother-in-law, Robert Murchie; and one great-niece, Hayli.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at Franklin Street United Methodist Church, Bucksport, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Regina’s memory may be made to Franklin Street United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1727, Bucksport, ME 04416. Arrangements are under the direction of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.
