CHARLOTTE – Donna Lee Furlong, 60, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, with her loving family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. Donna was born Jan. 21, 1951, in Hartland, daughter of Stephen and Theo (Weir) McDonough.

She graduated from Greenville High School and enjoyed blueberry and potato farming, quilting and spending time with her family. On March 22, 1991, she married Duane Furlong, in Baring.

Donna was predeceased by her father, Stephen; and brother, Douglas McDonough. Surviving are her husband, Duane Furlong of Charlotte; her mother, Theo McDonough of Charlotte; two children, Lew Dwelley and his wife, Amy, and Wayne Dwelley, all of Alexander; stepdaughter, Vicki Jones and her husband, Dennis, of Pembroke; two granddaughters, Donna-Ray Furlong of Pembroke and Jayda Harding of Alexander; sister, Cynthia Preston of Calais; two brothers-in-law, Arthur Furlong and his wife, Carolyn, of Meddybemps, and Lyle Furlong of Charlotte; many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais, where a celebration of Donna’s life will be held 1 p.m. Sunday with Pastor Bill Hunt officiating. Burial will be afterward at Round Pond Cemetery, Charlotte. A time of fellowship will be held after the burial at Charlotte Fire Department. Condolences and memories may be shared at
