PRESQUE ISLE – Betty J. Murray, 70, passed away Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born June 13, 1941, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Afton and Cecilia (Williams) Gardiner.
Betty was a member of Church of Jesus, Chapman Street, Presque Isle. She was a lady of strong faith, prayer and was always reading her Bible.
She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey of Presque Isle and Joel and his wife, Stephanie, of Soldonta, Alaska; and three daughters, Penny Burbee and her husband, Loomis Jr., of Dunnellon, Fla., Tammy Sinclair and her husband, Jerry, and Lisa Murray, all of Presque Isle. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and a special lady, Carolyn MacBurnie, whom she thought of as a daughter. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Green.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Church of Jesus with Pastors Clark Jalbert and Ronald Lapointe officiating. Friends may call noon until time of service.
