LEVANT – Charles E. Overlock Sr., 55, died unexpectedly Dec. 18, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. He was born March 7, 1956, the son of Alvin and Jennie (Austin) Overlock.

Charles grew up in Levant and attended Hermon High School. In 1974 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving eight years. After active duty he was employed by Bath Iron Works as a master electrician. Charles loved life and knew no strangers. He enjoyed fishing and was passionate about his family and faith. He was a devoted member of First Apostolic Church of Brewer. He will be deeply missed by all.

Charles is survived by his parents; four sons, Stephen Overlock, Tobias Overlock, Jesse Overlock, and Charlie Overlock and his wife, Merrilynn; four daughters, Audreigh Morris and her husband, Matthew, Jennifer Norwood and her husband, Josh, Kristina Rue, and Mary Fowler and her husband, Ralph; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Overlock and Daniel Overlock; one sister, Pam Martin; and many other relatives.

The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, at First Apostolic Church of Brewer, 14 Parkway South, Brewer. Relatives and friends may call 1 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at South Levant Cemetery, Levant. Those who wish to remember Charles in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the Charles E.
