CORINNA – Maynard C. Church, 83, died Dec. 23, 2011, at a Pittsfield nursing home.

He was born Feb. 1, 1928, in Guilford, a son of Edward and Isabelle (Burgess) Church.

He worked in the woods as a young man and also worked at Eastland Woolen Mill, Corinna, retiring from Dexter Shoe Co. in 1994. He never let his limitations get in the way of a hard day’s work. He was most happy when he was working on his woodpile and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and just puttering around. He was proud of the fact of being blessed with wonderful health for so many years.

Maynard is survived by two sons, Brian and Ronald Church; a stepdaughter, Kelli and husband, Ron Richardson, of Corinna; two brothers, Norman and Keith Church; two granddaughters and their husbands, Amanda and Erik Stitham and Morgan and Andy Ricker; a grandson, Ronnie and wife, Jess Richardson; 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He will be fondly remembered by his friends and neighbors, John and Debbie Liberty. He was predeceased by his wife, Marcia, in 2008; and four sisters, Virginia Harrington, Vivian Church, Donna Downs and Crystal Weeks.
