MILO – Sophie E. McKenney, 99, wife of the late Wilfred S. McKenney, died Dec. 23, 2011, at Hibbard Nursing Home, Dover-Foxcroft. She was born Oct. 23, 1912, in Southington, Conn., the daughter of Klemens and Valentina (Kuznicka) Markowski.
Sophie had worked as an assembler for airplane parts. She was a member of American Legion Post No. 33 Auxiliary.
She is survived by a son, Donald E. Hayes of Milo; two stepdaughters, one stepson, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Reinholdt; two sisters and one brother.
Friends are invited to call 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, at Lary Funeral Home, Milo, where funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, with the Rev. Dodie Sheffield officiating. Friends and family are invited to share a time of fellowship at Pleasant Park Community Center after the service. Spring burial will be in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery.
