BANGOR, Maine — A local man was arrested early Monday morning after he got into an altercation with two brothers, ages 32 and 29, at their Ohio Street apartment that ended with the younger one being stabbed in the arm.

Arthur Lee Greene, 28, was charged with aggravated assault in connection with the stabbing. He also was charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon for allegedly holding a knife to the elder brother’s throat.

Greene remained in jail Monday night unable to post $5,000 cash bail.
He is expected to make his first appearance Tuesday before a judge.

Police were sent to the brother’s apartment at 1:16 a.m. for a report of an assault, according to Bangor police Sgt. Chip Hodges.

The brothers, whose names were not released, told police that Greene knocked on their door but they refused to let him in. The two agreed to step outside and at some point Greene pulled a knife, Hodges said Monday afternoon, referring to a report. When the younger brother intervened, Greene reportedly slashed his left arm with the weapon.

The wound was not considered to be life-threatening, according to police.

Greene was arrested at his Sanford Street residence after fleeing from the scene, Hodges said.

    1. Seems like a poor headline or a poor article or both.  The headline reads like he was fighting with his brothers, the texts indicates he was fighting with brothers who were not indicated to be his.

      1. And they gave the assailant’s name so anyone who knows him, probably will figure out the victims’ names.

        1. It appears that we have a combination of poor writing on the part of the “journalist” (the title) and very poor reading comprehension on the part of MANY readers.

People, the article is pretty clear that Greene wasn’t fighting with his own brothers, please learn to read.

  1. If you had “I’ll be home for Christmas” playing in the back ground while reading this, it could bring a tear in your eyes!  lol, ya right.
lets stab a brother on Christmas! Is it just me, or is this world just burning out?

    1. Welcome to Maine “The way life should be”. Yea, drugs, alcoholism, babies addicted to pain killers, women chopping their husbands up in bath tubs, brothers stabbing each other, and dead beat parents mooching off the welfare system who never visit their kids. No jobs, No culture, but plenty of pot and cigarettes to smoke 24/7.

  2. Ohio Street and Sanford Street. I am surprised these high rent districts have so much crime lately. It’s sad to see these hard economic times affect even our best neighborhoods in Bangor.
