CHERRYFIELD – Wendell Warren Wood, 54, died Dec. 23, 2011, at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 2, 1957, in Jonesport, son of Warren Oscar and Frances Ellen (Lovejoy) Wood.
Wendell worked as a pavement roller operator for many years, and was a lobster fisherman. He was a great supporter and member in good standing with the Humane Society of the U.S. Wendell loved fishing, eagles, the outdoors and his favorite dog, Brandy; and he was an unselfish loving soul. He had a heart of gold and was loved and will be sadly missed by all.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Frances and Murray Seavey of Cherryfield; son, Ryan W. W. Wood; stepchildren, Amy Bolden and Shawn Hartford; three grandchildren, Jade, Jasmin and Jordan Wood; five sisters, Jan Britton and her husband, Kenny, of Addison, Marlene Cyr and her husband, Paul, of Green Lake, Darlene DuBose and her husband, Charles, of Pleasant River Lake, Joan Libby and Judy Wood; several nieces and nephews including, Shawn, James and Kristina Kilton, Christopher Perry, Elexis DuBose, Zachary and Brittany Britton, and Brandon Cyr; great-nieces, Destiny, Lavinia McKenna; two great-nephews, Dustin and Kaine; special friends, Ricky and Sandy Wakefield, Clint and Clarence Nelson, Raymond “Red” Wallace and Lisa Leighton.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, at Unionville Church of God, Unionville, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28.
