PRESQUE ISLE – Irene Crory, 91, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at a Presque Isle nursing home. She was born Aug. 23, 1920, in Linneus, the daughter of Arnold and Adeline (Gardiner) McDunnah.
Irene worked many places including the school cafeterias at Presque Isle High School and Skyway School, as well as Potato Service. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with friends, but her main joy in life was her family and she invested much time in being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her son, Dale White and his wife, Ruth, of Presque Isle; a granddaughter, Jennifer Olson and her husband, Scott, and their two children, Nicole and Jarrett, all of Crouseville. She also leaves behind a brother, Freeman McDunnah; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two husbands, Perley York and Sterling Crory; and two sisters, Vivian Currie and Nina Horseman.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with the Rev. Michael Horseman officiating. Friends may call noon until time of service. A reception will be held in the gathering area of the funeral home. Interment will take place in the spring at Fairmount Cemetery.
