HUDSON – Kristie Dawn “Gert” Collins, 22, died Dec. 26, 2011, in Glenburn, as a result of an auto accident. She was born Nov. 21, 1989, in Bangor, daughter of Larry and Stephanie (Doucette) Collins.
She graduated from Central High School, Corinth, class of 2008. She participated in many sports, softball being her favorite, helping her team to a Class C State Championship. She was attending Husson University, Bangor, studying occupational therapy and was employed as a nurse’s aide at Winterberry Heights, Bangor. Kristie had a kind heart, a beautiful smile that was infectious and a very bubbly personality, except when she was awakened too early. She was very excited to know that she would soon be an aunt. Another passion of Kristie’s was supporting the fight against breast cancer.
Kristie will be lovingly missed and remembered by her parents; a sister, Danielle Gray and her husband, James, of Bangor; a brother, Joshua Collins of Hudson; her grandfathers, Keith “Bubba” Collins of Hudson and James Doucette of Bradford; her grandmother, Lois Girvan of LaBelle, Fla.; her boyfriend, Mike Perkins, who she lovingly called Michael Ryan, of Portland; a special uncle, Mike Doucette of Bradford; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Kristie Dawn is now an angel in the loving arms of her Nana Rosa.
Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Hudson Baptist Church with the Rev. Garnett Chute of Hermon and Pastor Jesse Pettengill of West Islip, N.Y., officiating. Burial will be at Hudson Cemetery. Those who wish may make donations in Kristie’s memory to Susan B.
