Deborah grew up in Jackson, Ga., until the age of 14, and lived in Texas and Washington, D.C., before settling in Millinocket in 1959. Deborah enjoyed many years raising a family, and devoted more than 50 years of her life to raising children.
She is survived by three children, Robert Lyons and his wife, Sandra, of Millinocket, Lestina Lyons of Abbott and Karlina Lyons and her husband, Tim Mauro, of Portsmouth, N.H.; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; a cousin, Robert Bledsoe and his family of Florida; and special friends, Bob and Jean Paquin and Scott Packard. Deborah was predeceased by a daughter, Princina Lyons, in 2005; and an infant daughter, Wanda Jane Pelkey, in 1959. Thoughts expressed by friend, David Woodbury … Hold this image in your mind: A grand reception room in heaven, bigger than any room ever built on earth; a huge heavenly host has gathered. A door opens, and a very tired little lady steps inside not knowing what to expect. When she comes through the door, the room erupts in applause and cheers. And a great but gentle voice is heard over it all: “Well done, Debbie. Now come rest beside me and let me hold you.”
At Deborah’s request, funeral services were private. Arrangements were by Lamson Funeral Home, Millinocket. Messages of condolence may be expressed at
