BANGOR, Maine — A Bangor man was arrested Wednesday after police said they stopped the car he was riding in and found drugs in his possession, according to police.
Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Thursday the department’s Special Enforcement Team was keeping an eye on the residence of Eugene Caston, 49, Wednesday afternoon and discovered he had three outstanding warrants for traffic violations.
Edwards said authorities noticed Caston in the passenger seat of a Honda Accord and followed the car as it drove across the bridge into Brewer.
The SET team radioed for assistance from Brewer police, but the car had already pulled into a driveway on Washington Street in Brewer.
“SET officers immediately arrested Mr. Caston and searched him and the vehicle,” said Edwards.
The search turned up ninja-style throwing stars, drug paraphernalia, a pill that was later tested positive as methamphetamine and a white powdery substance later discovered to be bath salts, according to police.
Caston was taken to the Penobscot County Jail, where he remained Thursday morning, Edwards said. He is facing two counts of misdemeanor unlawful possession of a hallucinogenic drug, misdemeanor unlawful possession of a scheduled drug, the traffic warrants and carrying a concealed weapon, all Class D counts. The driver of the car was not arrested or charged, Edwards said.
If convicted, Caston faces up to a year behind bars on each charge.

anyone else think that the Bangor police was really trying to make sure Brewer police wasn’t upset and made it clear they did ask for assistance but they were not available in time. Tell the truth….you were thinking your thugs could go anywhere they want and when you realized they were outside the jurisdiction you made up the rest so it would stick. When you seen him get into a vehicle in brewer you should have arrested in brewer
Just stupid ^…Great job BPD. Who’s house on Washington St. did they interrupt him buying from ???????????????
Get these heartless predators off the streets…thanks
The just stupid w/ an up arrow was at Washingtoncntyboy’s comments…not the BPD’s work
I had to clarify !!
Guess you’re no fan of law enforcement, right boy?
Bangor works with Brewer
I didnt know ninja-style throwing stars were illegal in Maine,i was going to buy some for home defense. how about Nunchaku?
No, no, no….Throwing stars are “outside toys”. Hazardous to sheetrock and paneling.
Nunchaku is a much better solvent, for removing those pesky and unwanted “house guests on Bath Salts”.
Ninja Stars ?? !! Sheeeeeesh.
Good thing he didn’t have any JARTS tucked down a pant leg.
He might get hard time for that.
They are not illegal unless carried concealed. Same with nunchakus.
His mug shot reminds me of Phil Spector.
Frank Zappa came back from the dead?
With a mug shot like this… He must be a “Pillar of the Community”…
I can’t believe people still use bath salts. From what I’ve read and heard that stuff isn’t even designed to bring pleasure. Not only that but it induces paranoia and an extremely unpleasant jittery feeling. All it does is keep you up but not in a good way, not at all. I can’t believe people continue to keep using this stuff, it’s certainly not worth getting into trouble over.
