Potholes are seen Thursday on Main Street, Route 16, in Milo. The Maine Department of Transportation plans to spend about $1.14 million next year repairing potholes on the main road through the Piscataquis County town. The work will repair the 1.19-mile section from the bridge that spans a river flowing between Sebec and Boyd lakes west on Main Street, as the road is known locally, to West Main Street. Routes 6, 11 and 16, the main road network through Milo, all converge at Main and West Main or run along them. They are state roads and therefore the Maine DOT’s responsibility.

These articles keep referring to the Boyd lakes but the river is the Sebec river and it connects to the Piscataquis river. The Boyd lakes have nothing to do with it. To clarify, the Sebec river connects between Sebec lake and the Piscataquis river. They converge at Rt16/Elm St Milo and a little further down stream the Pleasant river connects in. Nowhere does Boyd lake fit into it.
