WOODSTOCK, Maine — A Rumford man was able to crawl out of the demolished cab of his loaded logging truck after it tipped over beside Route 26 late Wednesday afternoon.
Dan Dolloff, owner of Dolloff Logging in Canton, was driving south when his truck veered to the right, rolled on its side and crashed into the trees, Cpl. Brian Landis of the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office said. The load of logs spilled in a ditch.
The accident happened about 4:30 p.m. between the intersection of Route 232 and Black Brook Road.
Dolloff was able to crawl out of the wrecked cab and walked to an ambulance, Woodstock fire Chief Geff Inman said.
“He’s a lucky man,” Inman said.
Dolloff was taken by PACE ambulance to Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway, Inman said.
A nursing supervisor said Wednesday night that Dolloff was treated and then released.
West Paris, Bethel and Greenwood fire departments went to the scene.
Landis said the accident was under investigation and a cause had not been determined.
The Department of Environmental Protection was called to handle fuel spilled from two tanks, Inman said.
