EAST MILLINOCKET and NATIONAL CITY, Calif. – Dean Cyr passed Dec. 26, 2011. He was born June 11, 1959, in Millinocket, the son of the late Wilfred “Sonny” and Jean Cyr.

Dean lived in California for 16 years, most recently in National City. During his years in California, he worked as a self-employed carpenter, mason, landscaper and construction worker. Most recently he worked as a security guard/attendant at a shipyard parking lot. Dean enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and old friends whenever he was able to get back home.

In addition to his parents, Dean was predeceased by his brother, Darin. He is survived by two brothers, Dana Cyr of Asheville, N.C., and Dale Cyr of East Millinocket; Dale’s children, Lori (Cyr) Davis and her husband, Rob, of Saco, Erica (Cyr) and her husband, Troy, of Millinocket and their children, Brady and Brooklyn, and Adam Cyr and his wife, Tessa, of Lebanon and their children, Owen and Zackery; two sisters, Debbie (Cyr) Ouellette and her husband, Lamont, of East Millinocket and their children, Matthew of Deltona, Fla., and Michaela of Stratton, and Dawn (Cyr) Dunton of Trenton and her children, Trevor Fernald, Taylor Fernald and her daughter, Kaya, all of Bar Harbor; and his stepmother, Bernadette “Bunny” Cyr of Ocala, Fla., and her family.

A graveside service will be planned for in the spring.
