BANGOR, Maine — Two local men were arrested on New Year’s Eve in West Market Square during the Countdown Downtown.
Lance Johnson, 26, and Andrew Hanson, 19, both of Bangor, were charged with criminal trespass when they returned to the square after they had been told by police to leave and not return.
Police were called about 8:30 p.m. by an event coordinator to deal with two men who were being disorderly, according to a press release issued Monday by Bangor police. They reportedly were intoxicated and bothering some of the performers.
Officer Wade Betters warned them to leave and offered the duo a ride, which they refused. Johnson and Hanson returned about 9:20 p.m. and were hanging around the stage. One appeared to be “very intoxicated, stumbling around aimlessly,” Sgt. Paul Edwards said in the release.
One of them hit a camera being operated by a Bangor Daily News photographer, who was videotaping the arrest. The photographer was not injured and the camera was not damaged.
Both men remained Monday at the Penobscot County Jail.

Aren’t they an adorable pair?
Just stupid . I remember the police talking to me a time or too when I was younger but I listened.
Aww, Andrew. There’s no need to pout.
I’m glad they are still in jail, so far a HAPPY NEW YEAR…………… for me!
Why is it so hard for some people to have a few drinks, go out in public, and not be a jack***? They don’t call NYE Rookie Night for nothin’.
Since the article didn’t say, I am assuming the 19 year old was charged with consumption of alcohol, and the 26 year old was charged with?? My guess is misconduct.
Being stupid???
Lance is all about religion on his facebook. Must have lost his way.
Hey Lance, the 50’s Greasers called. They want their look back. Minus the stupid earrings.
one does look like ‘squiggy’ from laverne and shirley adn the other just a plain greaser..haha good observation.
Drunk and stupid meet drunk and angry…

Another fine example of Bangor’s gene pool!
Uhhh, why wasn’t teh 19 year old arrested the first stop for being a minor who had been drinking alcohol?

because it’s just a summons…good lord, if the cops arrested EVERY underage drinker, the jail would have to be bigger than the new county courthouse!
