HOULTON – Evelyn C. Dow, 93, died Dec. 31, 2011, at a local health care facility. She was born April 5, 1918, in Littleton, daughter of Beecher and Ida (Weed) Carmichael.
Evelyn was employed as the Aroostook County, south, register of deeds from 1960 to 1994. She was a longtime member of Portia Rebekah Lodge and loved doing all things with family.
She is survived by two daughters, Jo-Ann Barton of Houlton and Avis Keith of Connecticut; daughter-in-law, Jean Dow; eight grandchildren, Wayne Randall, Judi Sewell, Karen Beaulieu, Brian Barton, Lynn Quint, Jackie Drake, Wade Keith and Richard Keith; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; two special people, Avis Hanning and Nancy Caron. She was predeceased by her husband, Clifton; and son, Stuart.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dunn Funeral Home where services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be at Littleton Cemetery.
