AUBURN – L Elizabeth “Betty” Davis, 96, passed away Jan. 1, 2012, at Clover Manor, Auburn.
She was born in Corea and lived in Hampden for many years before retiring to Florida in 1975 with her husband, Grover. After his death in 1986, she returned to Maine and eventually lived at Clover Manor for 18 years. Betty loved her many years at the family camp in Township 18 near Machias. The children and grandchildren fondly recall fishing, hunting and “road riding” with her, spring vacations in Florida, as well as her great pies and other pastries, baked beans, mincemeat and Grape-Nuts pudding recipes. All these memories will remain as a part of her legacy.
She is survived by two sons, Clive and wife, Sandra, of Syracuse, N.Y., and Carey and wife, Sharon of Sabattus; four grandchildren, Grover and wife, Ian, of Oakland, Calif., Christel of Lisbon, Karina and husband, James, Davis-Corr of Syracuse, N.Y., and Carey Jr. of Lewiston; five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service will be held in Machias later in the year.
