PLYMOUTH – Norma D. Godsoe, 75, died Jan. 2, 2012, at a Bangor hospital, after a long illness. She was born Dec. 14, 1936, in Millinocket, the daughter of Frank L. and Elta (Tweedie) Buchanan.

She attended Hartland and Pittsfield schools and was a graduate of Maine Central Institute, Pittsfield. She married Henry D. Godsoe, April 28, 1956. Norma was a Christian lady and believed in God as her personal savior. She loved her family and was always making blankets for her grandchildren. She enjoyed her vegetable gardens and she loved to read.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Henry D. Godsoe of Plymouth; her son and his wife, the Rev. Dr. Courtney and Ester Godsoe of the Philippine Islands; three daughters, Coreen L. Sylvester of Carmel, Pamela Godsoe of Carmel and Bonny London and her husband, George, of Troy; two brothers and their wives, Harry and Pat Buchanan of Milford and Curtis and Lois Buchanan of Hermon; three sisters and their husbands, Sandra and Milton Melanson of Old Town, Naomi and Guy Hawes of Carmel and Karen and Glendon Wilson of Etna, 11 grandchildren, Christopher, Melanie, Courtney, Micah, Kristy, Jennifer, Justin, Sean, Thomas, Seth and Kylie, 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Malcolm and Frank.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Service Center, 34 High St., Newport, where funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, with her son, the Rev.
