JONESPORT – Geraldine W. Look slipped quietly into heaven Jan. 5, 2012, surrounded by her loved ones, at Down East Community Hospital, Machias. She was born Jan. 9, 1920, in Jonesport, daughter of the late Ernest V. and Myra (White) Woodward.

She is the wife of the late Bert S. Look II; and beloved mother of Bert “Sid” Look and wife, Sharon, and Priscilla D. Look and husband, David C. Look. Gerry is also survived by her sister, Barbara Hall; brother, Wayne Woodward and his wife, Lucille; and sister-in-law, Edith Woodward. “Garmie” leaves her legacy and memories behind with many wonderful friends and a large family, including six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Ernest Jr., Charles, Arthur and Norman Woodward; and by her sister, Minnie W. Dobbins. The family thanks the staff at Down East Community Hospital and Sunrise Care Facility, as well as Eve, Cathy and Amanda for their compassionate care during her long illness.

She and her husband actively and faithfully served Sawyer Memorial Congregational Church, Jonesport, where she was Sunday school superintendent for 38 years. Gerry had a wonderful gift of writing, coaching, judging and directing young people in junior readings, speeches and plays.

In keeping with Gerry’s wishes, there will be no visiting hours. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Gifts in memory of “Garmie” may be sent to Sawyer Memorial Congregational Church Steeple Fund, P.O. Box 249, Jonesport, ME 04649.
