NEWPORT – Marguerite .”Domenica” A. Lindsey, 87, passed away peacefully the evening of Jan. 6, 2012, with members of her family at her side at a Bangor hospital. Marguerite was born June 6, 1924, in Barre, Mass., the daughter of Rosario and Giuseppa (Genovese) Puliafico.
She graduated from Barre (Mass.) High School, class of 1942. She attended Andover Business School, Worcester, Mass., and worked at different positions for various types of businesses throughout her life. Marguerite was married to the Rev. Kenneth L. Lindsey for 42 years. She was an active member of Episcopal churches throughout the state of Maine for more than 40 years, most recently at St. Martins, Palmyra.
She was predeceased by seven of her nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by sisters, Pam Potter of Barre, Mass., and Patty Wagley of Dennison, Texas; her son and his wife, Christopher and Debbie Lindsey of Newport; grandson and his wife, Bryan and Jen Lindsey of Chelsea; granddaughter and her husband, Tessa and Dave Wilkins of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; great-grandchildren, Erik Dodge, Ethan Dodge and Everett Lindsey; many nieces, nephews and cousins located throughout the U.S.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at St. Martins Episcopal Church, Palmyra, with the Rev. Lev Shurman officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marguerite’s memory are requested to be made to St. Martins Episcopal Church, Main Street, Palmyra, ME 04965. Spring interment is planned at St. Josephs Cemetery, Barre, Mass. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Service Center, 34 High St., Newport.
