WINDHAM – Marion M. Sullivan, 86, of Firefly Lane, passed away Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, with family by her side, at Maine Medical Center, after a brief illness. She was born May 16, 1925, in Corinth, daughter of Fred and Ada (Drake) McCard.

Marion was educated in Corinth schools and moved to Portland during the early years of World War II. Throughout the years Marion had worked at Barrows Manufacturing, the Portland Copper Co. and for many years at Fairchild/National Semi-conductor. Marion worked many jobs necessary to provide for her family. Being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and avid letter writing friend to many was her priority. Upon retirement she was thrilled to move back to her hometown of East Corinth, to live in a restored farmhouse with her sisters nearby. Marion was very proud of her hometown heritage and donated many family artifacts to Corinth Historical Society for others to appreciate. She enjoyed daily hot chocolate, sitting on the porch on a beautiful summer day, bird watching and her amazing pets, ranging from bulldogs to pugs. In 2006 she moved to Windham to live her remaining years with her granddaughter, Carol Laberge and family.

Marion was predeceased by her husband, Francis X. Sullivan; two sisters, Phyllis Simpson and Myra Duncan; and her daughter, Sharon Thomsen. She is survived by brother, Harold McCard and wife, Charlotte, of Kittery; two sons, Michael Lounsbury and wife, Julie, of Augusta and Dan of Lakeland, Fla.; and her son-in-law, John Thomsen of Portland. She will be remembered as a wonderful “Gram” by her grandchildren, Mark and Pam Thomsen, David and Nicole Thomsen, Carol and Marty Laberge, Deborah and Glade Taylor; and as “Great Bammie” by her great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Road, Windham, with a brief service noon in the chapel.
