BLUE HILL – Emma Lillian Buddington, 90, also of Natick, Mass., and Watertown, Mass., passed away Dec. 31, 2011, surrounded by her family. Emma was born Oct. 21, 1921, in Brighton, Mass., to John and Wilhelmina (Hamilton) Stitcher.
She is survived by four children, Nancy Anderson and her husband, James, of Sedgwick, Ruth Harrington of Ayer, Mass., James and Lawrence, both of Blue Hill; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Emma was predeceased by her husband, Donald Sr., in 2000; son, Donald Jr., in 1998; parents, sister, brother, many nieces and nephews.
She married Donald Powell Buddington, Dec. 9, 1942. She was a past worthy matron of Pequossette Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Watertown, Mass. Emma enjoyed taking china painting lessons, painting many items and giving them as gifts. She also enjoyed doing knitting, cross-stitch and needlepoint.
